This cupcake recipe is SO easy and simple to make. I know that sometimes making anything from scratch can feel intimidating, and if that’s how you feel, then you can always use a chocolate cake mix and it will still work just as nicely.

Whether or not you decide to go that route, you can also play around with the different cake flavors too. Not feeling chocolate cupcakes? You could swap it out for a yellow or white cake mix. A strawberry cake paired with the Oreo buttercream would also give you a chocolate-dipped strawberry flavor combination. Talk about HEAVEN!

These cupcakes are the perfect treat to make for any family gathering, birthday party or just as a “treating myself” dessert! No matter where you serve them, know there won’t be one cupcake left! (Yes, even if you make them just for you 😉

I loved this cake and icing. The cake batter brought back memories of when my mom would make a cake and let us lick the bowl. yummy Thank you so much

  5. Is it ok to use UNsalted butter instead? I see alot of frosting recipes that call for unsalted butter?? Thanks can’t wait to try them.
