Four Days in San Francisco

A couple of weeks ago Kale and I took a trip to San Francisco and had the best time! We were really in need of a getaway after everything that has been going on the last few months, so we were pretty excited.

We set off on Thursday July 20th and flew into San Francisco at 5:00 pm. We stayed at the Omni hotel in the financial district and it was just perfect. 

The hotel was stunning! Kale picked this one for us and I’m SO glad he did. The lobby was beautiful with fresh flowers and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. It was really fancy. 😀

Our room was cozy and perfect. We had plenty of space. I loved how old fashioned everything looked. It was pretty cool. 

Once we settled in and unpacked we headed over to Fishermans Wharf for dinner! My sister, Jaclyn, suggested Alioto’s on the Wharf so that is where we ate. 

I ordered the Chicken Piccata and it was delicious! Kale ordered a seafood platter and loved it too. Great restaurant and the view wasn’t too bad either. 😉

After dinner we walked along the wharf and ran into this cool museum filled with old arcade games. It was so cool. I wish I would’ve taken more pictures. After the museum we were both tired so we headed back to the room to crash for the night. 

 

We slept in, ordered room service and then got ready for the day. We first went over to China Town to browse around. It was fun!

 

After China town, we walked over to Lombard street. It was so busy with tourists but so cool. I love that street!

I don’t think I would want to ever live on this street, though. The tourists would drive me nuts. haha. 

After our walk to Lombard street we went back over to Fisherman’s Wharf and had lunch!

 

My margherita pizza did not disappoint. It was so good! 

 

After lunch we walked over to Pier 39 and browsed around in all the fun shops and eateries. It was such a fun place. 

 

 

I had to order me some mini donuts. They were delicious and melted in my mouth.

 

We decided to burn off lunch and the donuts by walking back to the hotel. It was worth it because it was neat to walk around downtown San Fran and see all their incredible buildings. 

 

We rested at the hotel for a couple hours then took a taxi to Union Square! We wanted to eat at the Cheesecake Factory but it was too busy, so we ate at the Burger Bar instead. It was awesome food. 

 

 

We were really tired by the end of the day so we went to bed and got up early to eat at Sweet Maple! My cute friend Cassie suggested this place to me and I am so glad she did! (*Thanks Cassie!) The food was super good. 

 

I ordered breakfast tacos and they were the bomb dot com. Yum!

After we ate we walked over to the FULL HOUSE home. This is where they actually filmed some of the scenes. I heard they had to pay big bucks to film here. 

I loved the sign they had next to the house. haha. 

Then we walked over to the Painted Ladies street. These are the homes that are in the opening credits to Full House. The park across the street (where I’m standing) was super crowded. Tons of people were there taking pictures. 🙂 

 

Then we took a good three mile walk over to Union Square and saw more amazing buildings along the way. Below is a picture of the city hall. It’s so beautiful! 

This building below is of my Grandpa Richard Jennings dental office where he practiced dentistry in the 70’s. I totally got emotional after Kale took this picture. My Grandpa died when I was 21, so it’s been a really long time since I’ve seen him. I know this building holds a lot of memories for my family. I’m glad I was able to check it out. 🙂 

We had a cruise scheduled for 4:00 that day, so we went back to Fisherman’s Wharf to hop on the boat. 

The cruise took us to both the Golden Gate bridge and the Bay bridge. We passed Alcatraz along the way too. It was a cool experience. 

 

 

 

 

When we got off the boat we had dinner at the San Franciscan restaurant and it was NOT good. Kale and I were both unhappy with what we ordered, so of course I didn’t take pictures. 

The next morning we took a ferry to Sausalito and enjoyed that cute town for a little while. It was fun!

There are so many fun shops and eateries in Sausalito. We stopped at a bakery and got a chocolate chip cookie. It was yummy!

When we got back to San Francisco that afternoon we hit up Ghirardelli! Oh, yes! 

This was the BEST chocolate sundae I’ve ever had in my life. SO. GOOD. 

For dinner we went to STRAW! Another amazing suggestion from Cassie. The food was our favorite! So fun and different. 

Kale ordered the Monte Cristo waffle sandwich. It was delish!

I ordered the Glazed Donut Cheeseburger. Oh, yes I did. And it was AMAZING!! (don’t knock it until you try it!)

We flew back home Monday evening. The entire flight home I reminisced over our amazing trip and all the fun we had. I can’t wait to go back again. I LOVE San Francisco!
