Menu Plan Monday #193

Menu Plan Monday

I know it may seem like I’ve been ditching the blog lately but it has not been intentional. Ever since Kelsey’s surgery 2 weeks ago our lives have been hectic and crazy. Kelsey’s recovery never went as planned. She never gained her appetite back and lost a bunch of weight (she was already tiny so she didn’t have any to lose!) she also continued to have pain. On Saturday I decided it was time to take her in to the emergency room. I am so glad I did. They took a cat scan that revealed she still had a lot of infection inside her tiny body. They admitted her into the hospital immediately.

Yesterday they placed a cat scan guided drain into her back to drain out the infection. She continues to have a lot of pain and is running a fever, but we are really hopeful this drain is going to help her get better. It is so hard as a Momma to see your child go through something like this. I wish I could take her pain away and make her feel better. I honestly feel helpless.

Sorry to be a drag, but I wanted you all to know what has been going on and that I am not ignoring the blog. My family comes first (of course) so they are my top priority right now. I do have many recipes photographed and waiting to be shared with you. I am hoping Wednesday I will be able to post one. We’ll see. Your prayers and well-wishes mean so much to my family. Thank you all for your support. 🙂 -Holly

  1. I am guessing that 99.9% of your readers (there’s always that one or two) who totally understand what’s going on! So glad you acted on your instinct and took her in to the hospital. Get well wishes for your daughter and you hang in there too.

  2. So sorry for your little girl! Prayers for her. She comes first, of course. We’ll still be here. 🙂

  3. So sorry! Will continue to pray for her.I know that helpless feeling you are going through, so I’m praying for you too.

  4. Oh you certainly have your hands full. It is so emotionally draining to have a young’en in the hospital and as Moms we do want to take that pain from them. I hope she is recovering well and home is getting back to normal.. God Bless…

P.S. I love your recipes and plannings…Thank you for so much work!!

  5. Holly, I am a new subscriber to your blog, which I like very much. I will keep your daughter and your family in my thoughts and prayers. I agree that your daughter’s welfare comes first and please take care of yourself, as well.
