Menu Plan Monday

On Menu Plan Mondays I’ve got you covered with six dinners and one dessert idea for the week!

menu plan MondayHey friends. Welcome back to Menu Plan Monday! The 220th edition to be exact! 🙂  If you are new to my menus let me fill you in. Every Monday I share an entire meal plan for the week. Six dinner ideas and one dessert to give you some inspiration to get cooking for your family and to avoid eating out.

I started meal planning around 8 years ago and it changed my life. I used to go to the grocery store with no clue as to what meals I was going to make. I would grab the necessities (milk, bread, cereal, etc) and then wander around the store aimlessly. Junk is what would fill my cart and then we would eat fast food most of the week. Ugh. Not good and such a waste.

Then my sister got the The Food Nanny cookbook for my birthday. Her book goes into great detail about how meal planning can save you so much time, money and how healthy it is for your family to eat a home cooked meal together. So I started doing it immediately. Before I headed out to the store I would sit down and decide on meals I wanted to make that week. I’d go through my pantry to see if I already had some of the items on hand and if I didn’t I would jot whatever I needed down on my grocery list.

It’s been amazing how much money I know I have saved cooking at home for my family. I know my kids love us all eating together and talking about our days too. It’s been a win win for us. We do still eat out though. Maybe two nights a week but that’s about it. (Momma needs a break from the kitchen. Plus I love me some Chick Fil A. ha!) Anyway, long story short I hope my meal plans will inspire you to cook at home more. Cooking doesn’t have to be hard or a stress if you plan in advance, so remember that! XOXO -holly
