That doesn’t sound good.

However…… when I made them, I was sold. Boy are these delicious….

not sure if it was guilt or in fact they are heavy sandwiches, but I could only stomach half of a sandwich…my husband ate all of his in one sitting.

I have to admit, I feel guilty making it because it a lot of dough in a sandwich — but my husband asks for it on Father’s day 🙂

I LOVE Monte Cristo sandwiches! I first tasted them at the Blue Bayou in Disneyland (although you can also get them around the corner at Cafe Orleans for cheaper.) Not as pretty as yours but DELICIOUS! I used low fat crescent rolls and swiss cheese made from skim milk. I like that these are baked instead of deep fat fried like other monte cristos I’ve had.
