I made these last year for Canada day and they were a big hit! Making them again this year and just curious if I could make the dough tonight, refrigerate it, and bake the cookies tomorrow night?

I am making these now and they are absolutely delicious! ! I have had no problems with the color at all, I also used McCormick food coloring. I didn’t press any chips in b4 I put the cookies in the oven, I just hand stirred all my white chips before baking. These are definitely going to be addedon to my “tradition” Christmas cookie list!!

Just discovered your blog today and immediately bookmarked it.Awesome stuff! I’m a newbie in baking and was wondering if the cookies flatten out on their own since you said to roll the dough in a ball shape and to be careful not flatten them out when putting in the choc chips.

In reply to Jaylene. I would imagine it was your food coloring. I use McCormick liquid red food coloring whenever I make these and they always turn out a beautiful red. Sorry yours didn't turn out. Try the McCormick next time! :)

Okay, mine didn’t look anything like the picture. Despite extra red food colouring, they turned out brown. I used Green & black’s cocoa, but wondering if it was the quality of the food colouring that wrong. Also, the white chips browned. They still taste amazing though!
