2 to 3headsbroccoli, chopped (stems removed)(about 1 pound)
salt and pepper, to taste
3clovesgarlic, minced
1cupheavy whipping cream
2/3cupshredded Mozzarella cheese
Instructions
Fry the chopped bacon in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat until crispy. Carefully transfer bacon to a paper towel lined plate to soak up grease. Set bacon aside. Carefully drain grease from skillet, leaving about 2 Tablespoons inside.
Add the chopped broccoli, salt, and pepper to skillet. Cook and stir broccoli for 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and stir to combine. Pour in the heavy cream. Stir. Reduce heat to low and let mixture simmer until sauce is thickened.*(If you want the sauce thicker, you can add a cornstarch slurry. Mix together 2 teaspoons of cornstarch mixed with 2 Tablespoons of water, then stir into sauce.)
Stir and let simmer until it reaches your desired thickness and broccoli is tender. Gently stir in the bacon to combine everything. Top evenly with mozzarella cheese.
Place the skillet under the broiler until the cheese is melted and golden. *(Watch closely the entire time so it doesn’t burn!) Serve warm and enjoy!
