Prep Time: 2 hours 30 minutes
Servings: 12

Ingredients

  • 1 package (15.35 ounces) Double-Stuffed Oreo cookies
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 2 boxes (3.9 ounces, each) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 ¼ cups cold milk
  • 2 containers (8 ounces, each) Cool Whip, thawed
  • 1 block (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Take a large zip-lock bag and place all the Oreo cookies inside. Seal bag shut and place on counter. Using a rolling pin, crush the cookies until they are small chunks/crumbs. You want them to still be chunky and small, but not fine crumbs.
  • Set aside 1/3 of the cookie crumbs for the topping. Pour remaining cookie crumbs into a 9×13 baking pan. Pour the melted butter over the crumbs and mix well to combine. Once combined, press into the pan to form a crust.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the 2 pudding mixes and milk. Cover and place in fridge to set.
  • In a medium bowl, blend cream cheese until smooth. Slowly add in the powdered sugar. Fold in one container of Cool Whip. Spread mixture over the cookie crust.
  • Next, take chocolate pudding and spread evenly over the cream cheese mixture. Spread the other container of Cool Whip all over the chocolate pudding layer. Sprinkle the top with the remaining cookie crumbs. Cover and chill in fridge at least 2 hours before serving. Enjoy!

  4. I want to mAke this recipe for a friends birthday but i would like to make it in advance.. if i made it wnd left it covered in the fridge for 3 days would it still taste as good? Or woupd it he soggy with the oreo crumbs??

    1. I don’t suggest making it three days in advance. When pudding sits in the fridge it can start to form a watery layer on top after only one day. I honestly would wait and make it the night before, or the day of the party. Just so it’s fresh and yummy!

I have made this recipe many times with a few changes. for the pudding, I Use less milk (about 1.5 cups) and mix in a full tub of cool whip,, taste more like mousse. I bake the oreo crust for 10 minutes, less crumbs. Also, I make real whipped cream with, heavy cream for the top. A real crowd pleaser, especially the kids.
    enjoy.

  8. Hi i scrolled through a ton of comments and can’t find the question. Do you use unsalted or salted butter!? I want to make this tomorrow, please help!!

  9. Hi – have you ever made this with real whipping cream, INSTEAD of cool whip? And with just the Oreo crumbs that you can buy? Thank you!

    1. Hi Lily, No I have not tried it with real whipping cream, but I think it would work great. I would plan on eating it the same day you make it if using real whipped cream. It doesn’t stay thick or last as long as cool whip does. Also, I have not tried using the Oreo crumbs. You want big chunks of the double stuff Oreos for the crust. So I highly suggest using the real Oreos. 🙂

I have leftover in my fridge that I made a few days ago and it’s taking every inch of me to not devour the rest of it in one sitting. it is soooo good!! I just add less butter and a half the powdered sugar mixture, and it tastes amazing!! thank you so much!!!

This has been a hit not just for my immediate Family, but for extended family and friends as well. We have been using this recipe for a few years now. It is highly requested when we go to family events. This is such an amazing recipe. Thank you!

  14. HEAVENLY OREO DESSERT; I respectfully rename you “Oreo Orgasm” and am not ashamed to say I’ve enjoyed you at several holiday office parties but, until today have never gone it on my own. Accidently bought “cook & serve” pudding, but made adjustments and soldiered on. It’s in the fridge now and, even if the pudding doesn’t set up just right, everything in it is so yummy I don’t think anyone will care if it’s a bit soupie. 😀
P.s.Please excuse if this comes out all Caps. For some reason this site it converting my lower case to caps. 🙁
