Prep Time: 2 hours 30 minutes
Servings: 12

Ingredients

  • 1 package (15.35 ounces) Double-Stuffed Oreo cookies
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 2 boxes (3.9 ounces, each) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 ¼ cups cold milk
  • 2 containers (8 ounces, each) Cool Whip, thawed
  • 1 block (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Take a large zip-lock bag and place all the Oreo cookies inside. Seal bag shut and place on counter. Using a rolling pin, crush the cookies until they are small chunks/crumbs. You want them to still be chunky and small, but not fine crumbs.
  • Set aside 1/3 of the cookie crumbs for the topping. Pour remaining cookie crumbs into a 9×13 baking pan. Pour the melted butter over the crumbs and mix well to combine. Once combined, press into the pan to form a crust.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the 2 pudding mixes and milk. Cover and place in fridge to set.
  • In a medium bowl, blend cream cheese until smooth. Slowly add in the powdered sugar. Fold in one container of Cool Whip. Spread mixture over the cookie crust.
  • Next, take chocolate pudding and spread evenly over the cream cheese mixture. Spread the other container of Cool Whip all over the chocolate pudding layer. Sprinkle the top with the remaining cookie crumbs. Cover and chill in fridge at least 2 hours before serving. Enjoy!

  4. I made this for my family this weekend, but I tweaked it. I baked off the crust for 15 minutes on 350 and I layered it in a trifle doubling the cream cheese and sugar for the layers. It was heavenly.

  5. How long do you leave the pudding in the fridge to set -just as long as it takes to complete the next steps? Is it the right consistency by then?

    1. I’ve made this type recipe for over twenty years, but you use only 3 cups of mix with the two boxes of Instant pudding it will be set and ready to use without having to go into the fridge…

  6. Someone made this at a picnic event and it was really good so I looked for this last year and I made it my brother-in-law said this is good. I am going to continue making is for spring and summer. Thank you

  7. Before I made the dessert, I was excited to see how it would turn out to my friends at school. When I was making the dessert, I found it pretty easy to follow the step in the recipe. After I served the dessert to my friends, they kept asking for more until it was all gone.! Awesome recipe

  8. What a great recipe! It was simple and everyone enjoyed it! I have had to send it to many friends who have tried it.

  9. I just made this scrumptious oreo dessert. It was easy as pudding! The top layer of cool whip I had to sit out for a few minutes because I saw it would be difficult to spread on top of the pudding. It worked out well with a little stir and then dropped by spoonfuls onto the pudding. Thanks for the recipe!

  10. My wife printed this recipe for me and suggested I make it. I made it about a month ago and it was delicious. The only suggestion I would have for the original recipe is to use regular Oreos instead of double-stuffed. For me, the extra frosting in the double-stuffed ones made it really sticky when trying to crush the cookies.

I modified the recipe for the 4th of July. Instead of Oreos, I used Nilla Wafers. Instead of chocolate pudding, I used Salted Caramel pudding. In addition to putting some of the Nilla Wafer crumbs on the top, I also finely chopped some Hershey’s Gold candy bars and sprinkled on top. This modification was as big hit with our guests on the 4th.

  11. I tried to make this after not making it for a few years and I didnt realize that the packages of cookies are smaller now so I think you should say ounces instead of package!

  12. Drooling! This looks so good!! I’d like to make it to have for dessert Saturday evening. Could I make it Friday night and still taste great?

This recipe is perfect. I make it the day before but wait until ready to serve to put crumbled cookies on top. They stay crunchy this way.
    Thanks for sharing this recipe.

  14. I want to make this receipe the night before ? Will the cookie crust and other cookies get to soft that is my main concern don’t want the Oreo cookies soft please email me as to what I need to do. Thank you

    1. Jill, I sent you an email but thought I would post it here too.Yes, if you make the dessert the night before the cookie crust will get soft. It will still taste delicious but it will be soft and you won’t get that cookie crust crunch. -Holly

    2. Also as with any desserts liKe these w cookie crusts i always bake my crust prior to adding the filling. Usually for about 10-15 min juSt to harden it up a bIt. Also a great tip i learned from my gma is to either make a quick chocol ganache or even reguLar ChocOlate frOsting froM a can and put a thin well covered layer on the Crust and refRigerate until it is a bit hard and will prevent the filling from maKiNg direct contact W the crust and def makes a huge diff aNd keeps the crust nice and crunchy! I always do that !
