Menu Plan Monday weekly recipes

With a new year well underway I want to give you some recipes that are made with a twist! It can be so easy to only make the classics, and there is nothing wrong with that, but I want to make dishes that have a different angle! On this week’s Menu Plan Monday you’ll see old favorite dishes in a new light! It will breathe a little fresh air into your home and onto your dinner table.

To know me is to know that Mexican food is at the top of the list of my favorite cuisines. When we have a day off, where will you find me and Kale? Mostly likely eating tacos or nachos somewhere. This week I am offering a new viewpoint with some Italian Nachos! Crunchy-fried wontons with shredded chicken, mozzarella cheese and olives for a fun and flavorful twist on the Mexican classic.

Next, instead of a regular taco salad, try my Doritos Taco Salad! It’s the perfect spin on an already perfect dish that adds an extra layer of flavor.

When it comes to sweets, I am always looking for a way to make them even better. My Banana Cream Pie Dessert is a beautiful rendition on the traditional pie. A layer of graham cracker crust is topped with a cheesecake filling, banana cream pudding, and topped with whipped cream. This is a fun variation you and your kids are going to love!

I hope that you have a great week looking at these traditional dishes through a new and flavorful lens.

  1. Thanks for your quick meal suggestions. I’LL be at my grandchildren’s house this week, and dinner for teenagers and teachers is sometimes hard to put together in a hurry. Voila! Your article.
I will be trying some of these, for sure, this week!
