This Mixed Berry Smoothie is a delicious drink that’s perfect for anytime of the day. Full of fruit and Greek yogurt, this smoothie is sure to satisfy!

A low fat smoothie filled with milk, frozen berries and honey.

There are many smoothie recipes out there, and many smoothie restaurants that are way too overpriced. It can sometimes cost you just as much at a sit-down lunch spot to get a smoothie, depending on where you go. I am here to rid you of overspending on something that you can throw together incredibly quickly without ever getting out of your pajamas. My Mixed Berry Smoothie is a healthy and fruity smoothie that offers so much versatility.

WHAT MAKES THIS SMOOTHIE SO HEALTHY?

The main ingredient to this recipe is frozen fruit. I load up my blender with frozen raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries. This amount of fruit is one of the best ways to start or end your day. Blended with low-fat milk, Greek yogurt, and a touch of honey is all you need for a flavorful, creamy smoothie. This recipe is great alone but is also ready for your homemade touch. Try adding a banana for a thicker consistency. Try substituting fresh fruit, or any of your other favorites. This will ensure that this recipe never gets old and always stays fresh.

CAN I MAKE THIS A PROTEIN SMOOTHIE?

When I want to make myself a quick breakfast, I’ll throw this recipe together with a scoop of vanilla protein. This way I have sustained energy all the way to lunch without having to snack beforehand. Try adding a chocolate flavored protein if you’re feeling a little extra indulgent first thing in the morning. If you want to keep this smoothie even more friendly on the stomach and waistline, try using a pea or plant-based protein.

IS THIS A BREAKFAST SMOOTHIE?

I make this recipe normally for a breakfast substitute, but I’ve also made it at every other point of the day. I have even made this recipe for a healthier dessert alternative. This smoothie tastes just as good as any scoop of ice cream, but eating ice cream doesn’t make me feel the greatest. When I add a scoop of vanilla protein powder to this smoothie it makes me feel fabulous!

Mixed Berry Smoothie

Prep Time 5 minutes
Servings 2

Ingredients

  • 2 cups low fat milk OR low calorie orange juice
  • 2 cups frozen berries (I use a mix of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries)
  • 1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 Tablespoon honey

Instructions

  • Pour the milk (or juice) in a blender. Add the frozen berries, Greek yogurt and honey. Blend until smooth. Serve immediately. Enjoy!

Notes

*Can use same amount of fresh fruit in place of the frozen fruit. If you want your smoothie icy, when using fresh fruit, you can add ice cubes.
