Here at the Lofthouse we are getting the grill fired up and the swimming pool ready so we can celebrate the 4th of July! The whole family will be over this year, so I am making sure we are ready to celebrate properly. For Menu Plan Monday I am giving you a variety of options that may not be the classic fare. We may be grilling in our backyard, but I know some of you are looking for something a little different this year.
With the sun shining bright, and the crew gathering around a picnic table, nothing helps a summer afternoon like my California Pasta Salad. Full of fresh vegetables, tender bowtie pasta noodles, and served with a light vinaigrette dressing. It really gets the appetite ready for a full day of eating.
If you’re hosting a more casual event, be sure to make my Sheet Pan Chicken Alfredo Pizza. It’s a great grab and go meal. Since there will be plenty of socializing happening, it will be easy to grab a slice and walk around carrying on conversations.
Do you want to know what will really be the talk of the party? Dessert! When the fireworks are blasting above, your tastebuds will be exploding with flavor. My Red, White, and Blue Berry Trifle was made specifically for this occasion! Soft white cake with layers of whipped cream and plenty of fresh blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries. Oh, my goodness, this treat alone is a reason to celebrate even without the holiday. 😊
