Today’s recipe is one of my very favorites. These Crock Pot Shredded Beef Tacos are absolutely AMAZING! They are so flavorful, so delicious and made in the beloved crock pot. 🙂

As the beef slow cooked all day my house smelled fantastic! I couldn’t wait for dinner because of that aroma teasing me all day. haha. Once it was ready I was dying to dig in, but I couldn’t because of course I had to take pictures for the blog first. That is probably one of the hardest things (okay, not hardest) but most annoying things about being a food blogger. Ha!

I couldn’t wait to come blog about this recipe. You guys will love it!

  1. I made these tonight and they are awesome! I had bought about 2.5 lbs of cubes of meat to make beef stew but I wasn’t in the mood for that today. I searched for shredded beef taco recipes for the slow cooker and came across yours. I had all of the ingredients in my pantry so just substituted my beef cubes for the pot roast. Super easy and Delish! Thanks you!

    1. Pam, I love that! It’s so nice to already have everything on hand when you’re in the mood to switch things up! 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the tacos!

  2. Just made these and they smell delicious! I think I’ll only use 1/2 can of beef broth next time because I had so much of the liquid left over OR use a bigger roast and make more tacos!

  3. Just got done eating…OMGoodness!!! So delicious! All the picky kiddos ate and wanted more! I had a tri-tip in my freezer that I wanted a new recipe for and this was absolutely amazing!

  4. I make some sort of slow cooker roast about once every other week. And I have to say this is the easiest and most delicious one I have made. It is so simple and you barely have to touch the roast. And most importantly, everyone in my house loved it. And I kept the leftovers to put on my salad the next day for lunch. Thank you so much for this one!!

  5. DELICIOUS and SUPER SIMPLE! Thank you so much for posting this – am looking forward to trying some of your other recipes!

  6. Thank you for this recipe! Ive never made shredded beef ever and this recipe was so easy! I live in New Mexico so of course the only thing I did extra was added 3 times the amount of chile, using the dried chile that we have here as is tradition and it was absolutely Superb! Cheers!

  7. Use thus recipe all the time without changing anything, the best recipe ever! And super authentic, taste just like the meat at Mexican weddings!!

  8. I had a little extra time this AM (never happens!), so I browned the seasoned (s & p, garlic powder) roast before I added it to the crock pot. I thought it would give another layer of flavor. So excited for dinner tonight! We like things spicy, so I used a TBS of ‘regular’ chili powder, and 1/2 TBS of HOT Mexican chili powder.

    1. Do you brown the roast in a pan before adding it to the crock pot? Every time i’ve cooked a roast, i’ve always browned it first.
      Thanks,
      AshlEy

  9. Going to try these tonight. Sounds great! How spicy are these tacos? I like mine more on the hot side. Any recommendations to add for that extra kick?

    1. No They’re not really that spicy. If you want a little kick I would add diced green chilies and extra chili powder to your heat tolerance.

  10. My best friend and I order shredded beef tacos everytime we go to Mexican Food. She was coming to dinner so I decided to give this a try. I made the recipe exactly as is and it was AMAZING!

  11. Do you sear the roast before putting in the slow cooker? I usually do with chuck roast when making pot roast in the crock pot. Thanks!

  12. This sounds delicious! Planning to make for Christmas day as Mexican food is our family tradition. Does the chili powder give the meat any heat/spice or does it just give good flavor? We have someone coming over that can’t handle any spicy food so I just want to make sure it will be comfortable for her. Thanks!

        1. A little delayed response from Christmas (I’m making them tomorrow so I looked up the recipe while at the grocery store), but they were SO good. Everyone loved them. They weren’t spicy but just had amazing flavor. My kids ask for this recipe all the time. 😉
