Crock Pot Shredded Beef Tacos
Crock Pot Shredded Beef Tacos are easy to make and absolutely delicious. The flavorful beef slow cooks all day, so you don’t have to worry about it until dinner time!

Today’s recipe is one of my very favorites. These Crock Pot Shredded Beef Tacos are absolutely AMAZING! They are so flavorful, so delicious and made in the beloved crock pot. 🙂
As the beef slow cooked all day my house smelled fantastic! I couldn’t wait for dinner because of that aroma teasing me all day. haha. Once it was ready I was dying to dig in, but I couldn’t because of course I had to take pictures for the blog first. That is probably one of the hardest things (okay, not hardest) but most annoying things about being a food blogger. Ha!
I couldn’t wait to come blog about this recipe. You guys will love it!

Made this for dinner tonight. Really yummy! I’d like to note that I pan seared my frozen roast then placed in the crock pot on low, it was done cooking 3 hrs later. I’m glad I checked it otherwise it would have been over cooked. Still delicious!
does it come out great at high setting or do you ideally need to slow cook it for 8-10 hours??
I’m making this today so I’m not sure how this recipe will turn out yet but in my experience cooking it on low for 8 hours is a better option. Cooking it on high can sometimes make the beef tough, I’ve ruined a couple roasts that way.
I love this recipe so much I made it last Sunday and again this Sunday! SO easy and delicious. Made some cabbage slaw and guac to go with it and it was perfect!
Is it possible to use chicken breast? N chicken stock to make shredded chicken tacos?
So relish! I ran out of time to make pulled beef and I only had beef stew cubes SO, I cooked them up in the sauce for about 1 hour on the stove and then threw it in the food processor for about 5 secs to “shred” it. Put it back in the pan and although the texture was a little different, the flavour was sooo good! Will make again.
Made a batch of this. Used a 1 1/2 pound beef chuck and a 1 1/2 pound bison chuck together. Beef is pretty dry but the bison is perfect and pulled apart much easier than the beef. Mixed them up in the broth to finish. Tasty!! I’ll probably use bison only next time.
Love these street tacos!! Super easy and sooooo tasty!! Topped with a little chopped onion and fresh guacamole! Mmmmm!!!
This recipe has become my “Breakfast Taco” recipe for our family Christmas gathering (which we do the Sunday after Christmas). I cook the meat during the night, meet my kids and grandchildren at mass in the morning, then come back to the house, and shred the beef. Family members bring the toppings and everyone enjoys! It’s a delicious-yet-stress-free recipe!
My boyfriend and I have a difficult time agreeing on meals. I made these and we both fell in love! This is such an easy and super tasty recipe. It’s becoming a regular meal in our home now.
Thanks so much for sharing!
Thank you so much for this recipe! We had it for dinner last night. It was delicious!! I am looking forward to leftovers! I love easy and yummy recipes! Thanks again
Thanks for your sweet comment, Sabrina! 🙂
Can I cook this a power Quick pot (pressure cooker)? How should I adjust the time?
I am not familiar with pressure cooking/cookers at all so I am not sure. I’m sorry!
Which is the best method of cooking? Low or high? 10-12 hours is long.
The longer the beef slow cooks, the softer and more tender it will be. I get up early to start mine, so it can be ready around 5:00 or 6:00 for dinner. 🙂 I suggest a low temperature for 10 to 12 hours as stated in the recipe.
This is by far my go to taco recipe, my family REQUESTS this often and today im having a gathering of friends over so im making four batches of this yummyneSs! Thanks for all your wonderful recipes i visit your site All the time
Can you use Mexican chili powder or will it make it to spicy?
Yes you can! I would try half the amount of the Mexican version at first to make sure it’s not too hot.
