When the holiday season rolls around it can be like an eating marathon! We indulge in all these incredible meals and desserts that are hearty and calorie laden. But sometimes I like to switch things up. This week for Menu Plan Monday I am sharing a few recipes that will make sure that you have lighter meals in between all the turkey, ham, and Christmas cookies.
One tradition we have here in the Lofthouse is Taco Tuesday. This is for a few reasons, one of them being that they’re a family favorite. Another is that tacos are a fairly calorie conscious meal. My Oven Baked Honey Lime Chicken Tacos are amazing and a great way to switch up taco night.
Another lighter recipe on the menu is my Garlic Herb Shrimp. Add these flavor-packed shrimps to salads, wraps, or serve as a tasty protein-packed appetizer.
You know what’s coming next- dessert! This recipe is one of my personal favorites because it takes me right back to elementary school. My Lunch Lady Brownies are one of the most sought-after recipes on my blog. A sheet of delicious brownies topped with a chocolate frosting. They are my favorite brownie recipe, and more times than not, I eat mine with a fat scoop of vanilla ice cream.
