My hubby is a HUGE fan of cheese danishes. Me, not so much, until I made these delicious Strawberry Cheese Danishes! 🙂

I remember when Kale and I were dating he told me about a place that sold his favorite cheese danishes. It was up in Veyo, Ut. A tiny little town about 20 minutes north of St. George.

One day my sister had to go there, so I decided to tag along with her and grab one of those ‘amazing’ danishes to surprise Kale with. I was so excited! I returned back to his house and handed it to him. He looked at me like I was crazy.

“What’s wrong?” I asked.

“This isn’t the right one.” he said.

“What? I got it at that market in Veyo.”

He replied, “This is a packaged Danish I can get anywhere!”

“Oh.” Silence…

So low and behold, I accidentally bought him the wrong one. In that market there are fresh homemade danishes they sell there, but me being Miss. Dumb Blonde, bought him a packaged one that was next to all the Hostess stuff! lol  Ooopsie.

Hey, It’s the thought that counts! Right? haha.

Not only are these a cinch to make, but they taste a million times better than the store bought versions. And with only a 30 minute prep time, you can have these delicious baby’s in your belly in no time!

  1. It is definitely the thought that counts! I am going to have to save this recipe so I can pick up some crescents and make these for family breakfast soon. It seems like every time I visit you I get another dish to add to my “to make” list! You’re awesome 🙂

  2. Ok I had to laugh when I read this…Because I know the danishes he is talking about. I have visited this little “pie Shop” in Veyo before myself. 🙂

However these do look great. 🙂

  3. Thanks Holly for the input! I’m making plans to start pretty soon doing the cookbook thing! I told Gordon he will get these rolls this weekend and he’s thrilled, loves the cream cheese!

  4. Oh these look yum!

I don’t think we have this refrigerated dough in Australia however? May have to look online for a substitute to try these babies

    1. There are recipes online to make your own crescent roll dough. I’d do that before using Pillsbury, I haven’t looked at their ingredients, but I’d bet there are more than they need as well as a fairly high sodium content. Don’t know about transfats either.

  5. Looks so good right now, breakfast time. But they’d be good anytime. There’s never a wrong time to eat yummy sweet stuff!

  6. It is the thought, darn it! 😉 I have a very similar recipe and I love it. What’s nice is that you can fill them with anything your heart desires.
