CROCK POT BEEF AND BROCCOLI

I love this Crock Pot Beef and Broccoli recipe so much. I make it at least once a month, but if I made it more often, I know my family would be happy with that. With only a 10-minute prep time, you can kick back, unwind, and let the slow cooker do all the work for you!

This Beef and Broccoli recipe won’t break the bank. It’s definitely cheaper than Chinese takeout, and to me, it tastes a whole lot better. It’s definitely the smart way to save a pretty penny and get your money’s worth.

The beef comes out so tender and juicy, and the sauce it simmers in is rich and savory. It soaks right into every broccoli floret and meat fiber. Every bite is filled with flavor!

To really take this dish to the next level, serve beef and broccoli over a bed of cooked white rice. The rice soaks up all the rich flavors, creating the most heavenly dinner. Everyone will devour this in no time!

First time making this recipe, and it came out fantastic! The steak was super tender and had a great taste too!

Really great recipe, thanks! I put the meat in for 3 and a half hours, and add the broccoli for another half hour-ish. Comes out so tender and perfect!

Yum! This has been added to our favorite recipes. It was a little too sweet for us with the brown sugar, so the second time I made it, I left it out. I cook fresh broccoli in the microwave then throw it in at the end. I cook 1.5 hours on high then 2.5 hours on low.

I made this a few times. The last two times, I left out the broccoli. I box it up (Lock & Lock) and store individual servings in the freezer. I thaw a serving overnight, then pour it over egg noodles and add a side of steamed broccoli. Fantastic! I plan on bringing some to my next campout for a quick meal.

Doubled this recipe. I used 5 pounds of stew beef in a 7 quart crockpot, added two onions, a bell pepper, and a jalapeno. Cooked 6 hrs on high, ended up quick steaming the broccoli in the instant pot cause the crockpot was full, put rice in a bowl, broccoli then ladled beef mixture over it. Everyone loved it!

  6. I’m wondering the same, because I love the beef version of this. I feel like it will be okay with chicken, I don’t see why not. I’m going to do further research, and if or when I make it I’ll come back to the comments and let you know!

Everything was cooked perfectly. Great sauce consistency. I used fresh broccoli floretts, and closer to 2.5lbs of beef. I made a few additions because it was fairly bland when I tasted before adding the water and cornstarch. I reccomend adding: 1tbsp rice vinegar, 1tsp chinese 5 spice, 2tsp ground ginger, 1 tsp kosher salt and increase the garlic by a clove, and the soy sauce by 2tbsp. this really makes it closer to something you’d find at a chinese restaurant.

I’ve made this many time and it’s fantastic. I was wondering if I can freeze leftovers? I ended up with a larger roast than planned.

made this first dinner tonight and it was fantastic. loved the stew meat idea in the comments, and was easy not having to cut up the meat that way. who needs takeout when you get the same flavors and fresh.

  12. When I eat at a chinese restaurant, I prefer the chicken & broccoli. Could I just use chicken instead of beef in this recipe?

    1. Hi Tracy, yes you can substitute chicken for the beef in this recipe. I would cook the same amount of time, or until chicken is cooked through.
