CROCK POT BEEF AND BROCCOLI

I love this Crock Pot Beef and Broccoli recipe so much. I make it at least once a month, but if I made it more often, I know my family would be happy with that. With only a 10-minute prep time, you can kick back, unwind, and let the slow cooker do all the work for you!

This Beef and Broccoli recipe won’t break the bank. It’s definitely cheaper than Chinese takeout, and to me, it tastes a whole lot better. It’s definitely the smart way to save a pretty penny and get your money’s worth.

The beef comes out so tender and juicy, and the sauce it simmers in is rich and savory. It soaks right into every broccoli floret and meat fiber. Every bite is filled with flavor!

To really take this dish to the next level, serve beef and broccoli over a bed of cooked white rice. The rice soaks up all the rich flavors, creating the most heavenly dinner. Everyone will devour this in no time!

  1. This was good! Before mixing in the cornstarch/water I taste tested the sauce and it seemed to be missing something to me. Added 1/2 teaspoon of ginger and that did it! Also, I cooked the meat 1.5 hours on high and 1.5 hours on low, and it didn’t fall apart. Thanks for the great recipe!

  2. I wasn’t sure at first…but this turned out FANTASTIC! My family has asked for this again, lol . Thank you for a great dinner night & will be following your page to see whats next.

  3. I just made this in my Instant Pot. I sautéed shallots first. The beef and broccoli only took 5 minutes to cook on high pressure. This recipe is Fabulous!! Thank you so much!!!

  4. I tried this recipe out this week and it was awesome. Both of my children and their spouses have moved back in with us while waiting for their houses to be built, and everyone loved this meal…all six of us! Will definitely be cooking this one again.

  5. I had to cook on low for 5 hours and set it to auto-set to warm for another 3 hours. Unfortunately my meat fell apart. I added the broccoli and steamed carrots when thickening. After 30 minutes it wasn’t thick, so I added some more cornstarch. Flavor was nice…a bit sweet from the brown sugar. My son loved it, probably because of the sweetness! Thanks for a meal I can make while away at work.

  6. Oh my gracious this is YUMMY!!!!! I added 1 medium chopped onion, half a red bell pepper, and 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper. This is so super simple and really yummy. Thank you so much!

      1. So sorry for the delayed response. I use fresh broccoli rather than frozen, so I cook the meat for a few hours (5 is a bit much), and about 30-45 minutes before I’m ready to eat, I add the bell pepper, onion, and fresh broccoli straight to the crock pot with the meat. It’s really delicious. If you added those things at the beginning, they’d just turn to mush! 🙂 I hope that helps!

  7. I really like this recipe. It is easy to modify if you want a little different flavor. Today, I added ginger, red pepper flakes, bamboo shoots, and pea pods.

  8. I found this recipe and wanted to try it right away. I didn’t have everything it called for so I used beef stew meat and 1 can of beef mushroom soup then all the rest of the ingredients. It turned out really tasty and I will definitely make this again. The beef stew meat was really tender because it was cooked slowly. Next time I will add onion and sliced fresh mushrooms. My husband thought it was really good and he isn’t real big on broccoli. HA!

  9. Hmmm, that looks so delicious, I’m going to cook this on weekend so hope all goes well but it certainly won’t look like yours I will need to work at that. The beef looks perfect.

I know this is an older post. But I just needed to thank you for this recipe!!!! It is made with ingredients i had on hand, i didn’t need to buy anything funky that i would only use for this recipe and theN have it sit in the fridge for eons waiting to expire (oyster sAuce ). This was a total win at my house last night. My super picky 22 year old LOVED it and my 16 year old son and husband both asked me to only make this version of beef and broC. They fought over the leftovers this morning to take for lunch, lol.

We make beef and broccoli regularly, but I have never tried it in a slow cooker until now. Wow. I didn’t add any sugar because we don’t prefer sweet proteins, and based on reviews only cooked it for a total of four hours (added broccoli after 3.5) and it was perfect. Beef was cook thoroughly and sooo tender. More tender than I’ve been able to get stir frying it on the stove. Broccoli was also perfect and soft on the outside with a little crunch on the inside – just how I like it. Might use a little less cor starch next time and add some ginger, but a very very yummy and family friendly recipe.

After trying four or five different beef and broccoli recipes I found this one. I will never try another recipe again, this one was absolutely amazing!! My hubby loved it and he is the one who is picky about his beef and broccoli.

  14. Just want you to know what a help you and this recipe were to me this week! My acupuncturist put me on a surprise no-carb diet to help me get rid of allergies at the same time my dentist put me on a soft diet to help me recover from dental surgery. wasn’t sure how I was going to make this work! but the tender beef in this recipe plus soft-cooked broccoli was the absolute answer – and the big surprise was how delicious and flavorful it was with no sweetener or cornstarch. Yes, the sauce was less of a glaze and more of a soup, but that was no big deal. I used Bragg’s aminos instead of soy sauce because that was what I had on hand, and it added a little sweetness. So good! Thank you!

  15. The first time I made this the whole family loved it. This time I added green peppers and onions instead of broccoli it was so good I’m never ordering out again

This is easily one of my favorite crockpot meals. It’s delicious, hearty, very short prep, and few ingredients.

  17. Can you substitute fresh broccoli vs frozen? And if so, any tips on how long to cook with fresh instead?
    Thanks!

    1. Hi Morgan! Yes, you can definitely use fresh broccoli instead of frozen. I would add it towards the last 45 to 30 minutes of the cooking time 🙂
