INGREDIENTS IN BAKED ONION RINGS

Just a few simple ingredients are all you need for these delicious Baked Onion Rings!

  • Onion: sliced into thin rings.

  • Flour and seasonings: to get that yummy, flavorful coating.

  • Eggs: to help bind and hold the coating onto the rings.

  • Panko bread crumbs: to create that coating nice and crispy.

WHAT IS THE BEST DIPPING SAUCE FOR THESE:

Try my fry sauce recipe here: Utah Fry Sauce. This amazing stuff is a dipping sauce that’s used to dip just about anything in. We use it on burgers, sandwiches, corn dogs, chicken nuggets, fries, and onion rings (just to name a few)! It’s so simple, yet SO tasty.

DIPPING ALTERNATIVES

If fry sauce doesn’t sound like a sauce you’d like, then no worries! Here’s a few other dipping options that are just as tasty:

  • Ranch: keep it simple and dip your onion rings in some ranch! You can never go wrong with this dipping classic.

  • Onion sauce: this is a sauce that many of you will recognize from Outback! It does contain horseradish though, so it will have a little kick to it.

  • BBQ sauce: another dipping classic, but with a smokier taste.

  • Ketchup: you can’t go wrong with some classic ketchup!

  • Honey Mustard: this one is actually really tasty and has a slight sweetness to it that pairs deliciously with the onion rings!

  1. I’m watching the awards now, and wishing that I had some of these lovely onion rings to munch on! Onion rings are a weakness of mine, and yours look so nice and crispy I know I’d never resist them. 🙂

  2. How Cute! Fry Sauce! Never heard of it. But I know people living in this here house will love it. Gonna mix me up some Fry Sauce this week! As for those onion rings….they look wonderful. You know I’ve never made homemade onion rings, and now there’s no excuse. Great post sweets, thanks!

  3. Nice! And I definitely like that they are baked – not fried. I have had horrible experiences trying to fry onion rings and keep the breading on…lol.

  4. These look delicious! They don’t have fry sauce where I live, but I often mix mayo and ketchup on my own for fries. What I love even more with onion rings are spicy horseradish based sauces (like the Outback steakhouse kind!)

  5. Now these look waaaaay good! I LOVE onion rings! And these seem healthier by baking them. Good idea to add corn flakes to the mixture!

  6. I need to try these! I love onion rings but would feel guilty eating them if they were fried. Baked = no guilt! And it even counts as a serving of vegetables, right? Right??? 😉

  7. Oh yum. I totally had other plans for making dinner tomorrow night but now I think I need to change the menu so that baked onion rings will fit in!

  8. Holly, these onion rings look so fun. I love onion rings but hate the greasy spoon feel. Definately going to try these.
