Bunny Bait is the perfect treat for any spring celebration! If you’re looking for a colorful and unique treat to leave for the Easter Bunny, this is the one.

Bunny Bait treat mix

I’ve always wondered why we leave out cookies for Santa Clause the night before Christmas, but no one considers the Easter Bunny in this regard. He needs treats too! I feel my Bunny Bait is the perfect thing for that sweet gift-giving bunny. Sweet and salty, this snack will attract anyone wanting a fun and tasty treat!

BUNNY BAIT

I love Easter time for all the bright pastel colors. They are always so warm and inviting. This crave worthy treat reflects those bright spring colors and enhances it with a balanced flavor profile. Popcorn is the base of this treat, and when you add salty pretzels, and sweet M&M’s (both white and milk chocolate) it’s a heavenly combo. This snack is as sweet as it looks and will keep you wanting more with that salty balance.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 standard-size bags of Simply Salted or Tender White popcorn
  • 2 cups broken pretzel sticks
  • 1 bag (10 ounces) milk chocolate M&M’s (pastel colored)
  • 1 bag (10 ounces) white chocolate M&M’s (pastel colored)
  • 1 bag (12 ounces) white candy coating
  • 1 bag (12 ounces) pink candy coating

HOW TO MAKE BUNNY BAIT

Pop the popcorn, according to package directions. Divide popcorn evenly among two extra-large bowls. Remove as many kernels as you can. Divide broken pretzels, and both M&M’s candies evenly among the two bowls of popcorn. Toss to combine.

Melt white candy coating, according to package directions until fully melted. Gradually drizzle over the two popcorn mixtures while tossing to coat everything. (This takes a minute to really get everything coated.)

Line two large baking sheets with parchment or wax paper. Quickly pour warm popcorn mixture evenly onto the prepared pans. Let stand for 10 or 15 minutes. Melt the pink candy coating according to package directions. Drizzle melted pink coating evenly over the tops of the popcorn mixtures in the pans. Let sit again for 10 to 15 minutes for coating to set. Once set, break mixture apart and serve!

HOW MANY SERVINGS DOES BUNNY BAIT MAKE?

Depending on how hungry your Easter Egg hunters are this mixture makes between 10 to 12 servings. You can either leave it in a large sheet pan, or bowl, so that your snackers can graze at their leisure.

This is also a great snack to portion out into Ziplock bags so that everyone gets their own serving.

HOW LONG DOES BUNNY BAIT STAY GOOD FOR?

I recommend that if you have any leftovers to keep them sealed tight in a Ziplock bag. This way you can enjoy this snack for up to three days. There have been a few celebrations where it only lasted 3 hours!

This yummy treat that can also be made all year long. Just use the color of M&M’s and candy coating to match the particular holiday!
